Sad! Sharia court sentences 3 christians to 80 lashes in Iran for drinking communion wine

Floggings in public squares regularly take place in Iran, for offenses that are seen to contravene the country's strict Islamic faith, including adultery, extra-marital sex, and consuming alcohol.

Iran's population is believed to have about 300,000 Christians inspite the fact that Muslim dominated country. Apart from the Christians there are  indigenous Christian Armenian and Assyrian communities making up about one per cent of the population.

The sharia law is applicable not only to muslims but also to christians and recently three Christians in Iran have been sentenced to 80 lashes by a Sharia court after they were found guilty of blasphemy for drinking holy communion wine.

Dailymail gathered that they are Yaser Mosibzadeh, Saheb Fadayee and Mohammed Reza Omidi, also known as Youhan, are due to be flogged in public after they were arrested at a house church gathering in Rasht in May. The trio have alredy  spent weeks in prison before they were finally released on bail.
The three men are Christian converts from Muslim backgrounds, and the sentence reflects the state’s hard-line refusal to recognise the right of Muslims to change their religion.

It is not illegal for Christians to drink alcohol in Iran but under Sharia law, Muslims are forbidden from drinking and it is illegal for Muslims to convert to another religion.

Security agents also raided the home of their pastor Yousef Nadarkhani and his wife Fatemeh Pasandideh and arrested them at the same time, but the couple were not jailed.
They are due to be sentenced at a later date after they were all found guilty.

God  will deliver them from this disheartening and intolerable punishment. He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
