An outraged airline passenger has claimed he found a dead cockroach lurking at the bottom of his meal.
He posted on his twitter account with the caption: 'Air India now serves cockroach for vegetarian meals on AI127 #sicktomystomach #traumatized #cockroachinfood.'

He was sitting in economy - already halfway through his meal - when he found it , and says he was on a flight to Chicago from the Indian city of Hyderabad.

Speaking to mailonline he said he ate half of it. I just couldn't bring myself to eat anything after I found the roach in my food. I was so nauseous.
'People around me were extremely grossed out. A guy sitting nearby also threw up after he saw it. In fact, one of the cabin crew members said he couldn't eat anything either after he came over and saw what I was served.'

A spokesperson replied to Mr Raghuvanshi's tweet, writing: 'We apologies [sic] for any inconvenience caused.
'We have a zero tolerance policy in this respect. Obligatory action is taking place.'
