President Buhari to demand the return of Nigeria's loot at UN Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to address the 71st regular session of the United Nations General Assembly on September,2016.

He will lead a delegation led a Federal Government delegation to NewYork United States nextweek Punch gathered from the minister of foreign affairs on Friday.

The minister stated that the President will use the opportunity to do the following:
1. Build relationship with other world leaders and demand the recovery of looted funds stashed away in foreign countries.
2. Canvass the election of an Afro - centric UN Secretary - General who will be pro - developing countries.
3. Push for Nigerians into various international agencies which will have influence on UN policy and programmes globally.
4. Engage world leaders and seek their support in the areas of security, anti corruption, governance and the economy where Nigeria is currently facing challenges.
5. Push for reform of the UN that is more inclusive of more countries.
6. Engage world leaders and push for recovery of illicit and looted funds, address poverty, refugee issues and irregular migrants which is affecting Nigeria's  relationship with European countries
7. Sign Paris agreement on climate change
8. Meeting on humanitarian crisis in the Lake Chad region which costs as much as $15bn
