Four soldiers dead in boat mishap

Nigerian troops have been in the Niger Delta region for 'Operation Crocodile smile' to equip the amphibious and internal security operations in the area against militants.

Unfortunately for the soldiers their boat was involved in an accident that has left four of them missing Nation learnt.  The cause of the accident has not yet been disclosed although sources are saying it could have been caused by turbulence due to massive movements of bigger boats.

The military has confirmed the incident saying eight soldiers were rescued  and the boat recovered while four have been declared missing with their riffles and military items.Divers from Brass community have joined the rescue operation. They have stressed that they cannot confirm the four soldier dead until their bodies are found.

An unidentified source stated that they saw uniformed soldiers struggling to get out of the water and were rescued while at about 2pm the soldiers sort help from local divers and youths to assist in the search of their missing colleagues.
