Tragedy as hotel workers kill boss

Tragedy struck in Suleja Niger State when the owner of Deploo Hotel and Suites, Mr Lucky Okonkwo, 59, a retired PHCN worker was killed.
He was stabbed on Friday after he returned from a trip to Kaduna by three men suspected to be his workers at the hotel.

Punch gathered that the suspects took CCTV camera, cash,a file containing important information about the hotel,decoder and went in his Peugeot 406 with number plate KUJ-424 BB.

The security men have also fled th office. Mr Luck's body was found by a housekeeper the next day who saw blood steming out of the victim's office.

The matter was later reported to the police. Mr Lucky was from Delta State and the former vice president of the Nigerian Association of Technology Engineering, North West zone.

Paul, one of the sons of Mr Lucky said they only got to know about their dad' death when some workers caleld the mom and insisted they didn't know his where about. On getting to the hotel they saw the body.They all confessed not to know what conspired but admitted they saw the three workers entering his office and leaving with the valuables. 

When queried they said 'oga asked us to fix the CCTV'. They have all been arrested pending the outcome of the investigation.He also urged the police to hasten the investigation. For now  the case has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Minna. 

A source said the fleeing hotel guards were the prime suspects and one of them have been cited in Port-Harcourt.

The police in Niger State released a statement that he was killed by his workers from all indication and they were working with intelligence on bringing the culprits to pay for their crimes.

The motive of the murder is not yet know. May his soul rest in peace.
