Pregnant women barred from hajj

Pilgrims have started getting ready for hajj this year but the Kano State government has taken a very serious step.

Punch gathered that 16 pregnant women have been barred from performing the 2016 hajj.

According to the Executive Secretary of the board, the women were caught during a medical check where a pregnancy test was conducted.

This law is in compliance with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria directive.

Their relatives have already replaced them. The exercise has now been moved to August 12 to ensure all basic travelling expenses and passports are ready. 1,388 out of over 4,500 passports are remaining to be processed by the Saudi Consulate.
