Nigerian Army arrests 3 suspected Niger Delta Avengers

Three people believed to be members of the Niger Delta Avengers militant group has been arrested by the Nigerian military. They are believed to have carried out the August 8th attack on the military checkpoint in which four soldiers died.
Sun-news reports that the soldiers were killed in an attack that shocked many and their am munitions were carted away.Since then a manhunt has been on for the killers which has proved successful so far with the recent arrest. According to Investigations intelligence gathering led by the ODS led troops to their hideout at Okiama community in Okigbenen clan Southern Ijaw LGA.
Although the raid was unfruitful, they were able to continue investigations and apprehended the militants on Monday at Epebu community in southern Ijaw LGA .
 They succeeded in arresting them after a gun battle that lasted for an hour. Two militants with the leader was killed while three of them were arrested.The Commander of ODS stated that the rifles and am-munitions recovered from the militants were those stolen from the dead soldiers they killed.
The Commander warned the public that there is no hiding place for criminals and cautioned those championing for Independence to desist from it.
