Man who names dog Buhari set free

Joachim Iroko aka Joe, the man who was jailed for naming his dog Buhari has been released.
The release came after he settled his bail conditions.

Punch gathered he was arraigned on the conduct likely to cause breach of peace after his northern neigbour reported to the police he had named his dog Buhari after his father Alhaji Buhari with a tag and paraded him around. 

International media commented heavily on the issue.Some like Buzzfeed suggesting he named the dog Buhari because the president of his country was popular and he liked him. 

They called jailing him 'weird'. Joe was released on Thursday after spending three days in prison. The judge finally granted him bail fo N50,000 withtwo sureties in like sum after he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He was released Thursday morning from Ibara prison.
