Japanese doctor gifts Nigeria's Dream Team $390,000 for winning bronze at Rio

Japanese plastic surgeon Katsuya Takasu who promised Nigeria's Dream Team money if they won the Rio football after hearing their flight before the games has fulfilled his promise.

According to BBC sports he gave them $390,000 for coming third and clinching the bronze. He presented cheques of $200,000 and $190,000 to Samson Siasia and Mikel Obi the coach and captain of the team.

Katsuya met them 2hours after the game where Nigeria won 3-2. The money according to him covers the bonuses and allowances as promised. Katsuya stated he travelled all the way down from Tokyo to meet the players when they were held up in Atlanta over payemtn of flight.

 They eventually landed in Brazil few hours before the opening match where they won 5-4 over Japan.

He went further praising their determination, resilence and efforts they put despite the many set backs they experienced. With this win Siasisa has become the most decorted player having won a silver medal in Beijingin 2008. In his words he expressed gratitutde to the show of love from doctor Katsuya. He thanked him for the kind gesture as it was a humbling and unbelievable gesture to do.

He ended up by praying God blesses him.
