Big time Nigerian internet scammer arrested

Mike, a 40 year old internet scammer has been arrested in Port - Harcourt.

BBC reports that he was apprehended and eventually arrested by Interpol and Nigeria anti fraud agency. 

He was behind many online scams and is alleged to head a network of 40 individuals behind global scams worth more than $60m(£45m).

A Nigerian behind thousands of online scams around the world has been arrested in the southern oil city of Port Harcourt, Interpol alleges. 

He makes use of malware to take over the systems to compromise emails as well as romance scams. He also coins his target where in one case he fraudulently collected $15.4m according to Interpol.

His networks include China,India,Malaysia,Romania,Australia,Canada,South Africa,Thailand and the United States. The network includes email accounts for small to medium sized businesses around the world.

Messages are usually sent to buyers you are to make payments into bank accounts they controlled.He and his accomplices are currently out on bail as investigations continue.They face charges from conspiracy,obtaining money under false pretences.
