Bank manager arrested for stealing customer's money


41 year old Ikechukwu Aghanenu a former Ecobank manager has been arrested by the Police.


According to Punch he reportedly connived with a suspected fraudster to defraud two banks customers - Late Mrs Oluremi Eguunjobi and Rabiu Lawal based in the UK of N14million.

It was gathered that two suspects who initially forged documents and presented it to the former bnank manger as a relative to the deceased are now at large. 

Mr Aghanenu unfortunately, knowing the implication of this crime, indulged himself with the others and at intervals diverted  N4.01m from the deceased  and 10m respectively from Lawals's account.

All this happened lastyear between September and November. They bank manager and the fraudster have been arrested and paraded . Their dirty deeds finally came to light when Mr Lawal who is based in UK checked his balance to his chagrin.

He further lodged a complaint with the lawyer of the deceased to the bank. After full investigations by the Nigerian Police, they were apprehended. 

 They have been arraigned to court where they pleaded not guilty and granted bail of N3m. They were asked by the presiding Magistrate two sureties each in like sum of the N3m. The case was adjourned till September 2016.
