Former governor of Rivers State Peter Odili has opened up for the first time admitting he collected N100million but insisted the money was from the PDP to contact and to mobilize the south - south for the 2015 elections.

According to City Metro the ex governor said he did not collect money from ex minister of state for finance. He further stated that he has never had any dealings with former secury advisser Sambo Dasuki. Odili said the money was given to him at the home of former PDP chairman Adamu Muazu.

His statement below:
My attention has been drawn to some publication where former minister of finance Mr Bashir Yugudu was quoted to have said that he allegedly gave me the sum N100m out of the money he purpotedly collected from the former national security adviser. I therefore wish to state the following:

''I personally decided to sign this rebuttal because over the years I have ignore spurious and  patently false reports against me because I knew that at the fullness of time, the truth will surely prevail.

'' I would have similarly ignored the recent falsehood attributed to Mr Yagudu but for the fact that the uninformed are beggining to latch for this long - held false and tendentious narrative hence my decision with all vehemence.

''I categorically state with all sense of responsibility tat i have never  had any dealings private or business or official, with the former National Security Adviser, so the issue of allegedly collecting N100m from either the former NSA OR Mr Yugudu does not arise.

''That as part of preparations towards the 2015 elections, the PDP set up contact and mobilisation across the six geo - political zones and I was appointed the chairman of the South - South mobilisation committee.

''Consequent upon this, the party, not the formerNSAor Yugudu gave the South south committee through me, the sum of N100million along with other zonal chairmen in the house of the aNational Chairman,Dr Adamu Muazu for the assignment.

The ex governor said he wrote a report to the leader of the party on how the money was disbursed.

The man who has a perpetual injunction against his arrest and prosecution, ex-governor Peter Odili has for the first time admitted that he indeed got N100million, but said the money was from the PDP for the contact and mobilization in the South-South for 2015 elections.
The ex-governor said he did not collect money from ex-Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda. He also said he has never had any dealing with a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Odili said the N100m was given to him at the home of ex-PDP National Chairman, Adamu Muazu.
But who exactly gave Odili the money at the house of PDP chairman?

His statement: “My attention has been drawn to some publications where a former Minister of State (Finance), Mr. Bashir Yuguda was quoted to have said that he allegedly gave me the sum of N100 million, out of the money he purportedly collected from the former National Security Adviser. And I wish to state as follows: “I decided to personally sign this rebuttal because over the years, I had ignored various spurious and patently false reports against me because I Knew that at the fullness of time, the truth would surely prevail.
“I would have similarly ignored this recent falsehood attributed to Mr. Yuguda but for the fact that the uninformed are beginning to latch on this long – held false and tendentious narrative, hence my decision to rebut this with all vehemence.

– Odili didn’t name who gave him money. Was it PDP money? If it is, you should say it with confidence.
