Justin Bieber Turns to Jesus, Baptised in a Bath Tub

Justin Bieber turned to the Hillsong Church at the peak of his public downfall and was baptized in the bathtub of a NBA player's Manhattan apartment, it has emerged.

According to a new feature on the controversial megachurch in GQ, the 21-year-old called upon eccentric pastor-to-the-stars Carl Lentz for spiritual solace in an hour of need about two years ago.

Bieber was living with Lentz in New York at the time, and one night turned to him crying, saying: 'I want to know Jesus.'

Dailymail gathered that the pop star asked to be baptized immediately, but Lentz said he could not find anywhere at that time of the night that was open or not swarming with paparazzi.

According to the magazine, the holy man decided to call on his 33-year-old follower Tyson so they could get access to water at his New York apartment building after an emotional heart-to-heart with the Baby star.
The singer is said to have been sobbing and 'ravaged by feelings of loss' as he prayed with the soothsayer before he asked to be baptised.

The religious rebirth is said to have taken place in the early hours after the Phoenix Suns centre's then-team, the New York Knicks, had beaten the Miami Heat on the night of January 9, 2014.

The feature says the religious process happened some time after 2 a.m.
