California shooting: 12 wounded, 8 injured

Police in San Bernardino, California, are responding to reports of a mass shooting in progress involving at least 20 victims.

The San Bernardino Fire Department tweeted at around 11.15am that first responders were on the scene in 1300 block of South Waterman Avenue.

Fox 11 reported that San Bernardino police are looking for as many as three white males dressed in military gear. Initial reports suggested one shooter was responsible for the incident.

Authorities said the situation is unfolding at the Inland Regional Center at 1365 S. Waterman Avenue.

SWAT teams have been called in to clear the scene, according to Los Angeles News reporter Doug Sanders.

MedEvac helicopters were also seen flying into the area to evacuate victims, Sanders tweeted.

News of the shooting broke during the White House press briefing. Press Secretary Josh Earnest said he was not aware of the incident when asked by reporters.
